hardy har har. [Jul. 27th, 2006|01:25 pm]
So, I don't update a lot, but it's because I was waiting for something as exciting as what I'm about to describe to happen:

DEAR CCDTers,
Today I was cleaning my room when I found a old cassette tape labelled "Joel's tape". I put it on, and realised that as a young (and demented) child, I liked to tape myself talking about nothing at all. HERE'S THE KICKER: I start the tape by saying..."Hi, I'm DOEL!". Yes, full out Doel-ness, as my speech impediment was in full swing. I gotta play it for y'all when I see you next.
Love, Grampy J...or Grampy D.

too much fun (in da tbay) [Jun. 16th, 2006|07:13 pm]
[Current Location |Toronto]
[mood | jubilant]
[music |Too Much Booty (In Da Pants) - Soundmaster T]

It's come to my attention that apparantly I don't update my LJ enough.
It's true, but I totally saw it coming.
So let's see...what's new?
WELL, I just returned from The Bay Of Thunder, where I was touring with CCDT. This was by far the most fun time EVER. Honestly, so many good times and laughs. Not gonna go into huge detail, because most of the people reading this were there, so just let me say...
TOO MUCH BOOTY!
Other highlights include
Le Barf
Losing Boris in the airport
Princess Greenwhatever and the Kakabeka falls
SYTYCD watching parties
Being celebs in Tbay...newspaper articles, tv news reports, MEETING THE MAYOR LIKE HOLY CRAP
THE WING CATCHING ON FIRE DURING PLATTY PLATS
Yeah, I went a little capslock crazy for a second there, but the excitement of a flaming wing during a dance show is too much for me to handle.
K so I most definetely lied when I said I wasn't going to go in detail with the Tbay tour, because more and more funny things keep coming back to me that I want to talk about...aka:
The wonderous V-sqaured shopping extravaganza...fur coats and ear muffs galore
(semi)perfect ball passing runs!
Spending 3467384 hours arguing over hot boys we would like to make out with (the guy from mean girls wins!)
My crotch (actually my big belt buckle) setting off the detector at the tbay airport which resulted in me being hardcore-ly searched
putting the electronics in a box...because we thought we were supposed to?
hanging out at pearson for 50 million hours while we waiting for debbydeb
OK ENOUGH OF THAT
999999999999999 photographs will be posting shortly outlining our adventures...can't wait.

In other news, I'm moving back to Kitchener tommorow for the "summer". It's in quotation marks because it's summer in the sense that work and ccdt is over, but I will still be coming back to Toronto really often for Jasmine's rehearsals, Ffida, PIRATEPARTYYAYAYAYAYAY, and of course...Sundance. Note the tone of death I use when discussing Sundance. *dies*
I have to spend tonigh packing all my shize for my triumphant return to K-town. I'm excited to see my family again, and see all my lovers back home. (ps, by lovers I mean best friends...not lovers as in sexual partners. ahem. i promise. kinda. wait no. nevermind. so yeah.)

Guess who's gonna be 19 in...9 DAYS?
Hint: You're reading his lj right now.
A prize for the first person to get it right.

Anyway, I should be off now, packing, and saying goodbye to the DURSELYS. ha. ha. haaaaaaah. ha.

cuntomelon. [May. 28th, 2006|06:45 pm]
[mood | mellow]
[music |Gone Daddy Gone - Gnarles Barkley]

K so, I haven't updated in a long time. Ooops.

Center Shift went great great great, I won't go into too much detail since it was a while back, but yeah, it was fabby fabby faberson.

I then got/took some time off from dance and 2nd Cup to go home and spend time in Ktown. This was really awesome, I got to see my parents a lot...and all my friends back home. Once again, not gonna go into too much detail, all I'll say is that the highlight was definetly the car adventure with Julie and Kate and the magical radio DJ.

Now I'm back in Toronto. Friday was my first ballet class in 3 weeks (ouch). I didn't do ballet while I was on tour with Tilt, then the week of Center Shift, then the week I went home. Saturday I taught 4 modern classes for Bess...kids ranging from 3 - 9. Good times. Reminded me why I want to go into teaching. But the thought of Joel TEACHING limon modern is still very very laughable. Today was the run of Teasing Gravity. Platty Plats was better than expected, and Ball Passing was a trip to hell. A hell in which balls fly out of my hands. After dance Sung Min and I went to the Eaton's Center to take advantage of 1) the fact that French Connection's WHOLE STORE was 40% off and 2) the goodness of Bubble Tea. She also taught me the important lesson of how to rip off the TTC. This is why the Sungmin Show will be so important in everyone's lives.

I'm also starting up rehearsals again with Jasmine for FFIDA and In A White Room. This Thursday she is starting to teach us a new piece...as well as work on the infamous Jello Dance.

Erm. As of right now I'm attempting to fill out my forms for residence next year...and crying about being poor.

OH. Last night was the worst moment of my life. Everyone who was at Michael Trent's rehearsal that one day we found the huge bug on the wall...imagine that bug. Now imagine how I felt when I stepped in the shower, looked down, and saw a BIGGER version of that bug in between my feet. I honestly jumped out, and just stared at it for like 50 million hours because I was too scared to do antyhing. I eventually drowned it, and let the water run for 15 minutes to be sure it was flushed down the drain and not holding on for dear life. Yeah I know, it was a waste of water, but it's better than having the mothereffing thing crawl back UP the drain while I was in the shower. It's official, I'm never having a shower ever again.

And now, for the quote of the day.
"For lunch I had twatmuffins and cuntomelon" - Lilly and myself.

PS STAY TUNED FOR EXCITING ANNOUNCMENTS REGARDING THE PARTY OF PIRATES

look who finally got an lj [May. 19th, 2006|01:24 pm]
[Current Location |the basement]
[mood | content]
[music |shimmy shimmy quarter turn - hellogoodbye]

gmac *boom*kabloo*sizzle*blerch* says:
now i have a question-when are you going to get an lj?
joel* CENTER SHIFT: May 18-21, Winchester Theatre ask me for info says:
haha i should do that right now
gmac *boom*kabloo*sizzle*blerch* says:
yees

...and thus my lj was born.
My prediction is that I'll update it like crazy for a week or two, then forget all about it. But oh well, at least now when I comment on other people's journals I can do it as myself, not some creepy shady anonymous person. Yay.
I'm actually not going to type out a proper journal entry about what is going on in my life right now because
a) the ccdt people who will be reading this know what is going on, aka performances
b) it just took me 56487564785647863543.3333 hours to make this, so i'm bored.
and
c) i need to wash my hair

no, that's not actually a lame excuse, i really do need to wash my hair.

you can expect some actual entries from me later.

in conclusion, a dance just isn't good if it doesn't feature real live dinosaurs.
just saying...
